Job Title: First Article Inspector
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a First Article Inspector (FAI) to uphold quality assurance systems both internally and externally, including the QA helpdesk and IQMS. This role involves collaboration with customer quality engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are current and actions are efficiently executed. The inspector will also identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement and aid in RCCA activities, along with assisting in internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Responsibilities
- Disposition and control of non-conforming products.
- Review and approve First Articles from suppliers.
- Perform First Articles for submission to customers.
- Program and operate advanced inspection and test equipment such as vision and instant measurement equipment, CMM, XREF, etc.
- Collaborate with the Customer Quality Engineer and Quality Management in implementing new inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
- Manage site calibration system including maintenance of database, certificates, calibration procedures, and confirmation of rendered services for invoicing/payment.
Essential Skills- First Article Inspection experience.
- Traceability expertise.
- AS9102 experience.
- Familiarity with AS9100.
- Blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2-4 years of related work experience, 4-6 years preferred.
- Experience working with customer quality systems.
- Experience managing customer requirements.
- Experience maneuvering customer portals.
- Proficiency with Net Inspect.
- Aerospace inspection experience.
- QA inspection methods and procedures knowledge, including First Article Inspection.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Passing documented color and near vision exam.
- Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
- Experience using calipers, ring/pin gauges, comparator.
- Advanced GD&T skills – Optical Comparator, CMM, Layout, Vision Scope Systems.
- Proficient PC skills and use of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook and Excel.
- Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean concepts.

Work Environment
The role is based 100 onsite, within an office environment located in a warehouse. This facility is air-conditioned, very clean, and well-organized. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

This is a Contract position based out of Enfield, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
