About the Role:
The Training Specialist for Air Crew is responsible for security training content development and delivery to Flight and Cabin Crew in line with the Groups values, regulatory requirements, international standards and best practices. Manage trainer performance and development to ensure high standards of training delivery. Promote security awareness and security training in order to safeguard the Groups employees, customers, properties, assets and brand.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and deliver security training courses for flight and cabin crew, ensuring training content complies with the relevant Operations Manuals, National Civil Aviation Security Training Programme, ICAO Annex 17, CAR AIR Ops, Doc 8973, IOSA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Deliver security training courses to flight and cabin crew which promotes security awareness and ensures these front-line staff have the required skills and knowledge to help prevent and manage acts of unlawful interference.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis to ensure training material meets the needs of learners and the business. Design and review course materials, identify and address short and long-term training requirements based on security related incidents and events.
- Identify and utilise training delivery methods that maximise learner abilities through on-going evaluation of course design and delivery methods. Utilise post course evaluation and advancements in training methods to continuously enhance training.
- Review cabin crew practical, computer-based and referral assessments to measure learner abilities and knowledge. Ensure remedial training is provided when required. Update assessment content in line with the requirements of the Operations Manuals and relevant regulations.
- Ensure current and new trainer development to attain and maintain high standards of training delivery and productivity. Provide direction through regular observations and timely feedback.
- Manage trainer performance and conduct interim and annual performance reviews in line with aircrew security training procedures and corporate performance management standards.
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders including Group Security, Flight Operations Training, Flight Operations, Safety and Emergency Procedures, Service Delivery, Group Medical and Group Safety etc.
- Ensure continuous professional development by updating knowledge and skills in the relevant areas of expertise. Identify individual development needs and ensure development plans are met. Ensure required trainer qualifications are maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
- Suggest initiatives and manage projects and ensure timely delivery within budget. Provide input on budget planning for projects and other requirements to the Training Manager Security.
