As we experience rapid growth, we are looking for a VMware Systems Administrator to contribute to the design, development and implementation of a cloud based environment that supports deployment of a Continuous Delivery Pipeline as per the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) (refer to https://scaledagileframework.com/system-team/) within a greenfield DevSecOps development to modernise the Navy’s EW capabilities. The Role
The VMware System Administrator can look forward to the following essential elements in this exciting role:
- Design, build and maintain the VMware based cloud enabled software factory.
- Exposure to cutting edge software factory tool chain.
- Be thought leader in creating defence compliant secure, disconnected networks.
- Create, maintain and execute standard operating procedures encompassing highly secure IT infrastructure environment.
- Monitor and manage technical operations.
- Problem analysis and resolution of emergent issues.
- Create exceptional documentation of standard operating procedures, root cause analysis documents.
- Communicate with stakeholders both technical and non technical.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM is desirable
- Experience in VMware cloud foundation and Tanzu is essential.
- Experience Active Directory is essential
- Experience in Redhat enterprise linux is essential
- Experience in Windows Server is essential
- Experience in Enterprise hardware is essential.
- Experience configuring systems in disconnected, air-gapped networks in the defence context is essential.
- Exposure to BIGBANG/platform one is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills essential.
- Experience in operations/service desk is highly desirable.
- Previous exposure to Defence Systems Engineering processes and tools is desirable.
- Experience in a Defence related industry is essential.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Australian Government (Defence) Security Clearance up to NV -1 - eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
