Quality Inspector (Electrical)
LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Inspector versed in electrical systems for commercial aircraft in San Antonio, TX
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Seeking Aviation Maintenance Technicians that are motivated to support a greater cause in directly impacting military warfighter readiness by providing critical maintenance repairs and modifications for our military customers.
The professionals chosen to fill these positions will join our MRO and Component Operations organization, working as part of a team in support of our key programs such as military commercial derivatives, fighter aircraft and aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul. Regular and predicted attendance is required.
This position requires an individual to work at heights utilizing fall protection equipment. Candidate must be able to obtain Fall Protection Certification. This is also contingency of assignment - Fall Protection Regulations - OSHA 1926, 191066, 1910 Subpart D.
• Proficiency reading wire schematics and diagrams
• Perform bonding, resistance checks, and continuity checks
• Ability to locate correct wire routing on system installs
• Independently perform AC/DC power checks
• Ability to complete proper wire installation with applicable drawing, including: proper spacing, proper use of cable ties and lacing tape, bundle opening, connector removal and installation, and special cable care
• Ability to perform basic wiring termination (i.e., wire striping std ring terminals and stud build up, connector pins/sockets, splices/proper spacing, shield ferrule/sleeve (solder and crimp type), standard coaxial connectors, and shielded twisted pair splicing
• Ability to utilize electrical and measuring tools including: environmental crimpers, Daniels large and small crimpers, AMP crimper, Burndy crimper, megohmmeter, multimeter, strippers, push-pull scale, weigh scale, and bond meters
• Knowledge of how to properly install fiber optics, coaxial cable, quadrax, etc.
• Perform Air Data Testing using proper assistance
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification, modifications, repairs and functional tests on Avionic and Electrical systems
• Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the lead and manager
Qualifications and requirements:- Minimum of 5 years of Aerospace Quality Inspection experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience performing product or process inspections
- Minimum of 5 years of experience reading and interpreting aerospace engineering drawings and blueprints
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with aircraft electrical systems, electrical components, wiring, or related electrical installations
- Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
- Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
- Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
- Read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
- Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
- Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
- On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
- Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
- Frequent walking on flat surfaces
- Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
- Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
- Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
- Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
- Occasional contact with metals
- Frequent exposure to noise
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):- Electrical inspection experience on aircraft systems, avionics, wiring, or integrated electrical components
- Experience working with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspections
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or sufficient experience to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate
- Experience with Boeing 7XX airplane and/or Military aircraft
- Experience with Executive Fleet aircraft
