Job Title: Machinist
Job DescriptionSeeking a Machinist for a leading technology company in Chelmsford, MA. This is an exciting contract opportunity with potential for long-term employment. If you have a keen eye for detail and an interest in machining processes, this is a great opportunity to grow in a hands-on role. In this position, youll play a key part in operating machines to produce cutting-edge products and systems.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic components, sub-assemblies, and products following work instructions and drawings.
- Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly process/work instructions, and work instruction processes.
- Select and install cutting tools, adjust machine settings, and monitor the machining process to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Set up and operate any type of precision machine tool to make original parts, tools, and mechanisms.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Maintain accurate data entry related to production processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve throughput and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Knowledge of ESD procedures and machine equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong work ethic with punctuality and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Basic computer skills required, including ability to navigate digital systems for timekeeping and work instructions.
- Familiarity with CAD and CAM software with a willingness to learn and develop programming skills for machining.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a day shift schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential for overtime. The role requires wearing steel-toed safety shoes. Employees will be working in a fast-paced and hands-on setting, utilizing precision machines and tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
