Description:You will be a Senior Welder with our team in Archbald, PA. Lockheed Martin Archbald is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering & field service support for both domestic and international customers.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Welder in the Arbhbald fabrication facilities, your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Independently performs layout, fit up and all welding and related fabrication processes on tightly toleranced, moderately complex aluminum and/or steel/stainless steel drawers, cabinets, and subassemblies, and facilities projects
• Performs layout, fit up, full tack-up, and straightening of moderately complex aluminum and steel/stainless steel weldments to flow to junior welders for full weld out operations
• Checks the flatness/straightness and general weld quality of full weld-out operations of junior welders and provide assistance and coaching as necessary
• Assists specialist welders in layout, fit up and welding and related fabrication processes on high complexity aluminum and steel/stainless steel weldments
• Cleans and prepares parts for welding by wire brushing, abrasive shot blast, and aqueous or solvent cleaning
• Performs grinding, straightening, and metal finishing to meet final product finish requirements
• Utilizes jigs, fixtures, table setups, clamps and angle plates precisely as specified by work
instructions and/or group leader/supervision direction to produce the correct shapes and dimensions
• Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and can follow written and/or verbal instructions
• Sets up and maintains welding equipment, including Collaborative Welding Robot
• Follows welding sequences precisely as specified by work instructions and/or group
leader/supervision to minimize heat distortion and straightening requirements
• May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances that have become distorted as a result of welding operations or other processes
• Maintains workstation/cell in organized manner and in compliance with any applicable safety standards
• Receives and, when assigned, provides cross-training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures
• Uses precision measuring tools such as vernier caliper, micrometers, and various welding inspection tools

Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to qualify and retain qualifications necessary of the welds being performed
• 5 years or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized training and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks on aluminum and steel/stainless steel layout, tack, welding, grinding and straightening on moderately complex, tight tolerance assemblies with demonstrated ability to meet production time standards with minimal defects
• Proficiency in repair or rework of moderate complexity parts to restore to required tolerances that have become distorted as a result of welding operations or other processes
• Can read and understand blueprints and sketches with respect to welding symbols and
differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threads
• Proficiently uses various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, burr removal, squares, and straight edges and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales
• Must be a U.S. citizen, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Brazing experience
• Flame/plasma cutting experience
• Vocational or trade school certification or equivalent experience
• Wash, shot/abrasive blast, mask, and apply metal flame spray to parts and welded structures per established manufacturing instructions
• Experience in thin and thick section welding

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
