Description:The Lockheed Martin International Government Affairs – Middle East, Africa, and Americas staff position will serve as a “voice of the customer” and help drive collaboration between Lockheed Martin’s Business Areas and corporate functions that results in consistent action and messaging. This position directly supports the Director, Lockheed Martin International Government Affairs, Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.

Responsibilities will include:

Facilitate and support Lockheed Martin’s engagement with designated foreign embassies;
Represent Lockheed Martin at a variety of external events;
Generate white papers and presentations to support international customer activities in the US;
Support executive travel into region (e.g., meeting preparation, coordination of strategic messaging, etc.);
Assist with coordination of executive engagement at tradeshows and conferences in region;
Support planning and execution of customer meetings at Lockheed Martin facilities;
Research and maintain international partner/competitor information;
Provide direct support to new business efforts as directed;
Provide coverage for other regions or programs as needed;
Perform other duties as assigned in support of team mission.

This position will be based in the DC area, and the selected candidate will need to be available to work onsite on a regular basis, with a minimum requirement of being present in the office or work location 2-3 days per week.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business, international relations or related field.
- Experience with and keen understanding of strategic issues impacting the Middle East and Africa or the U.S. relationship with allies in the region.
-Demonstrated business acumen and knowledge in political, economic, and international government affairs.
-Experience with and keen understanding of strategic issues impacting the Americas, and the U.S. relationship with allies in the region.
-Experience in presenting complex strategies and information to both peers and sr.-level management.
-US Citizen
Desired Skills:
-Masters degree in business, international relations or related field.
-3-5 years of direct government affairs/international business experience
-Past experience working directly with senior U.S. or foreign officials on regional security, defense or commercial issues.
-Past experience working with an internationally focused business council, think tank, or institute.
-Understanding of regional culture and customer procurement process.
-Past experience working and/or living overseas.
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
-Proficiency in a foreign language (Arabic, Spanish).

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
