Weyerhaeuser’s Aviation is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee the daily operations of the hangar located in McMinnville, Oregon. Duties will be performed in an aircraft hangar as well as a forest environment. As the Logistics Manager, you will have management responsibilities for the ground support staff and operations, and maintain aircraft parts acquisitions for smooth and efficient aircraft maintenance activities for our Part 133 and Part 137 operations. Additionally, this position will fill the role of base manager and oversee the facilities maintenance and upkeep of the ground support fleet. This is a salaried exempt position that reports to the Aviation Operations Manager.
Our helicopter operation is supported by company personnel, including pilots, aircraft mechanics and equipment operators. Most work will be conducted within the local area, but there will be occasional travel between locations in Oregon and Washington. Depending on project work, occasional overnight travel and/or weekend work would be required.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage ground support staff and logistics at the McMinnville base.
- Facilitate operational needs of the base facilities, safety and environmental needs.
- Promote and ensure a cultural of safety, sustainability and efficiency.
- Work with the Forestry teams to schedule aviation ground support team.
- Coordinate maintenance of trucking, rolling stock and miscellaneous equipment needs.
- Maintain daily communication with drivers, foresters, and operations to ensure that the production goals are met.
- Respond to calls from drivers, assuring their driving activities are covered for the day and the required documentation is completed.
- Ship, receive, and store HAZMAT materials.
- Maintain inventory computer system and proper levels of supplies and solvents.
- Materials management – monitor expiration dates, perform stock transfers between facilities, and receive and issue parts.
- Operate a forklift which will require certification.
- Drive support vehicles and perform operations on the ground as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associates (or higher) degree in related field preferred.
- Background in aviation parts ordering, stock levels and maintaining a part inventory required.
- Proven commitment to safety with knowledge of safety processes.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees of all levels of the organization and external customers.
- Work in a professional manner, taking the initiative to get the job done, and building customer relationships with strong people skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with computer usage and data input.
- Work under pressure while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently and as a team member.
Desired:
- Background in truck transportation and DOT regulation.
- Prior experience with management of HAZMAT materials. * If not already HAZMAT certified, must become certified after hire.
What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $90,244 - $135,509 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
