Production Supervisor
Job Description:

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

The Production Supervisor partners with the production manager to lead, teach, coach and mentor operations personnel. This role leads 2 - 10 employees in the production process.

The Supervisor will promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes, and is expected to build and fabricate parts while also maintaining their leadership responsibilities of the team. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will support the following:

Assumes responsibility for the development and implementation of effective production Department planning, policies, and procedures:

•tAssists Production Manager in developing short and long term goals and objectives and provides suggestions and recommendations.
•tParticipates in developing Department policies and procedures and ensures that they support and complement Company-wide strategic objectives.
•tConducts periodic reviews of existing policies. Ensures that policies are updated and in accordance with evolving production and quality standards.

Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions:

•tBuild, Fabricate and Repair parts. Build first article and initial production runs of highest complexity parts.
•tOversees production and assembly processes. Supervises assembly, inspection, and shipment of products.
•tMonitors and supervises production quality, and inspection of products. Identifies problems and resolves them quickly and effectively.
•tRegulates work flow to ensure maximum production capacity. Monitors the floor production schedule to ensure that products are completed according to deadlines.
•tEnsures that Production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.

Effectively supervises assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance:

•tProvides leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
•tDirects and assigns personnel. Provides assistance and support as needed.
•tTrains, advises, and counsels employees on current production methods. Provides suggestions to improve performance and productivity.
•tProvides input on personnel decisions, performance appraisals

Effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management:

•tProvides input and feedback to implement changes and revisions in operational procedures and improve DFMA
•tKeeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
•tSupports feedback into Make/Buy decisions
•tAssumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience (+2 years)

Knowledge: Strong understanding of production procedures, standards and
knowledge of Quality Control Standards and systems.

Experience: 3 or more years of experience in manufacturing environment, plus minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Computer Skill: Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, ERP system.

Other Skills: Well organized, planning and time management skills, quality oriented, problem solving. Ability to lead teams, conduct meetings, give direction/delegate, and train/coach/mentor employees.

Additional Preferred Skills: (not required)
•\tBachelor's degree
•\t5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
•\t3 or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
