Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports production operations by developing, documenting, and improving manufacturing processes. This role ensures efficient, safe, and high-quality production through technical support, detailed work instructions, and hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing issues, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the technician utilizes CAD tools to support process design and tooling development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain detailed manufacturing instruction sheets (MISs), and process documentation for manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure work instructions are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with current processes
- Use SolidWorks CAD software to design fixtures, tooling, and process layouts
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, and productivity improvements
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions
- Ensure documentation complies with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Train operators on new or revised work instructions as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment
- Proven experience writing work instructions or technical documentation in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- May require standing for extended periods and working near machinery
