Are you ready to bring your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Equipment Expediter 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be onsite at Lake Charles, LA. facility.

The shift for this position is A-Shift Monday - Thursday from 06:00am to 4:42 pm.

Your Duties will include:

  • Receive, store, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices.

  • Maintain records of tools issued to employees

  • Take periodic inventories and requisitions stock as needed  

  • Report damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using automated system to enter transactions, validate information and maintain database.

  • Clean, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment

  •  Dispose of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedures.

  •  Ensure that measuring devices are periodically calibrated.

  •  Operate industrial equipment such as fork trucks, lift gates, tow tractors and hand trucks in the safe movement of equipment up to 9 tons.

  • Anticipate and verify shortages and affix priorities to tool and equipment dispatch.

  • Expedite to destination by coordinating with requesting department (Engineering, Operations, Tooling, Planning, Material Control, etc.).

  • Update equipment locations with the automated CTIS recording system and comply with all FAR requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in an Aircraft Manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of the FAR part 52.245.1 - Government Furnished Property (GFP)

  • Experience with functional testing of standard pneumatic power tools and standard shop equipment

  • Ability to survey, control, dispatch and follow-up of all types of tools pertaining to an assigned department

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple levels in a team environment

  • Ability to lift over 50 Lbs.

  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

  • A valid Drivers license.

  • Ability to stand and walk for at least 75 of the shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in accountability, auditing and inventorying.

  • Knowledge of hardware and tools for aircraft and aircraft repair industry.

  • Familiarization with tool accountability system.

  • Foreign Object Damage (FOD) experience.

  • A current secret clearance.

  • Experience in operating machinery, such as forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and overhead cranes.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
