Position Summary
Basic Function:
With direct supervision, responsible for participating in the Parker EHS intern development program to learn the various aspects of the EHS function at Parker Hannifin.
Work with division or location EHS/Operations/HR Team to impact Parker’s Win Strategy objectives of Profitable Growth, Financial Performance, Premier Customer Experience and Engaged Employees while continuously maintaining the highest degree of safety, customer service, throughput, quality, and cost.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Acquire knowledge of various EHS department’s operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow.
- Observe work assignments performed by others and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.
- Learn and develop EHS systems and processes focusing on the areas of safety culture, leading safety a star point team and/or health and wellness team, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
- Maintain communication with program coach/mentor (if assigned) to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program improvements.
- Attend related training (if provided) and apply training in work assignments.
- Perform other related responsibilities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program in a related EHS field such as: Engineering, Science or EHS Equivalent program.
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of EHS and manufacturing assignments.
- Working knowledge of environmental and safety concepts and demonstrated application.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
