Role PurposeThe Ground Instructor ATPL is responsible for delivering high-quality ground training to students enrolled in the ATPL program. This role includes providing instruction in various theoretical subjects related to aviation, including but not limited to aerodynamics, meteorology, air navigation, flight planning, aviation law, and aircraft systems. The ATPL Ground Instructor ensures that all instructional materials are up-to-date, aligns with regulatory standards, and meets the learning objectives of the training curriculum. The instructor will be expected to foster a positive and engaging learning environment, helping students achieve academic excellence in preparation for their ATPL exams. The position also involves assessment of student performance, providing feedback, and offering additional support to students as needed to ensure their success.
Key Accountability- The Ground Instructor (GI) is directly reporting to the MANAGER, GROUND SCHOOL (ATPL) and responsible in all aspects of Ground Training activities as the following:
- Conduct comprehensive classes and meticulously prepare teaching outlines, course materials, and practical training schedules tailored for courses associated with ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) training in accordance with the company requirements which includes the upkeep of records in meeting regulatory requirements including IOSA (IATA Operations and Safety Audits), Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM), ISO (SIRIM) and CSO (Corporate Safety and Oversight) Audit.
- To develop the cadet pilot’s personal knowledge of aviation subjects as per the approved syllabus.
- To prepare MABA cadet pilots for their ground training examinations.
- To maintain, monitor and process the flight trainee’s records and reports.
- To assist the Manager, Ground School (ATPL) in developing and monitoring the MABA cadet pilots’ personal qualities and discipline to represent the company.
- Collaborate with the team to support day-to-day operations, while also assisting the Manager/ Head of Training in key projects related to Mandatory Training.
- To perform any other secondary duties related to training and administration as directed by the management.
- Foster a culture of professionalism and collaboration by maintaining positive conduct with both team members and fellow participants throughout various training activities.
Qualifications & Working Experience- Hold, or have held a CPL/IR /ATPL; or
- Hold or have held a CPL and passed the ATPL ground subject/subjects that he will be teaching; or
- Had at least 5 years’ experience in aviation field and passed the ATPL ground subject/subjects that he/she will be teaching.
- Attended and passed an approved Basic Instructional Technique Course or Train the Trainer Course.
Areas of ExperienceExperience in ground instruction or teaching in aviation-related subjects is preferred.

- Proficiency in using learning management systems and educational tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor effectively.
