Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Roll Form Operator B to join our Fabrication team in Auburn, Washington.

As a Roll Form Operator B, you will be an essential part of our production team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating roll-forming equipment to shape and manipulate various materials to precise specifications. Your role will involve interpreting technical documents, selecting the appropriate tools and accessories, and ensuring that all parts meet stringent quality standards. You will utilize your skills in layout and measurement to optimize production processes while focusing on safety and efficiency. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and adjust rolls to contour, flatten, and straighten various materials such as sheet stock, flat stock, angle stock, bars, extrusions, and tubing to meet quality specifications.

  • Obtain information from work orders, prints, charts, sketches, and templates to guide work assignments.

  • Use templates and precision measuring instruments to check work and ensure accuracy.

  • Perform necessary hand work utilizing hand and power tools to accomplish assignments.

  • Select and secure proper rolls, dies, guide blocks, and other accessories to complete work assignments.

  • Independently set up, adjust, and operate power rolls to burr all types of flat metal parts.

  • Apply proper lubricants, coolants, and air as needed during operations.

  • Check fluid levels (e.g., hydraulic oil, grease) and call maintenance to fill as required.

  • Correct overbend by flattening, straightening, and reforming materials as required.

  • Use offsetting rolls to form varying radii on sections in a single operation.

  • Review work orders to determine requirements and ensure the correct type and quantity of materials are issued.

  • Set up and adjust rollers for specific types of radii called out by drawings or work orders.

  • Perform on-line computer work using CMES at the completion of job assignments.

  • Transport finished parts using appropriate material handling equipment as required.

  • Contact fellow workers, the Team Lead, or supervisor when assistance is needed or a problem arises.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings

  • 3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • 3+ years of experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)

  • 1+ years of experience working with precision measuring tools

  • Ability to lift 35 to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift

  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Metal forming or roll forming experience

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Summary pay range: $24.00 - $48.58 per hour
