Job Title: Aircraft PainterJob Description
Join the San Antonio Manufacturing Center as an Aircraft Painter in the Emergent Paint Center. This role involves preparing parts for paint application, mixing paint, and working with various chemicals. You will collaborate closely with team members, so teamwork is a valued skill. Additionally, you will interpret engineering drawings and specifications to complete assignments.
Responsibilities
- Coat aircraft surfaces with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other materials using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Remove old paint from aircraft using liquid paint remover and scraper.
- Smooth surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool; roughen aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool.
- Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted.
- Paint insignia, letters, or numerals on aircraft surfaces using stencils.
Essential Skills- 2+ years experience in painting responsibilities.
- Experience reading blueprints and document specifications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Experience working from heights and using fall protection equipment.
- Ability to complete Fall Protection training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2+ years hands-on experience in sanding, taping, mixing material, and paint application.
- Experience working on military and commercial platforms.
- 1+ years experience working with hazardous chemicals.

Work Environment
This position requires working at heights with fall protection equipment, and candidates must obtain Fall Protection Certification. You will engage in variable shifts based on business needs, including 1st and 2nd shifts. The work environment includes exposure to noise, contact with metals, plastics, and solvents, and requires the use of personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms. Training completion is a contingency for this assignment, which may include on-the-job training or formal classroom sessions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.72 - $36.72/hr.
